The State of Florida requires security guard training to be taught at a licensed security guard school or training facility(DS).
Furthermore, the instructors are required to hold the proper license (D,DI)
Students are required to complete 40 hours of training to be eligible for the Class D security license.
Students that complete the security guard training will be issued a certificate of completion.
A copy of the certificate of completion is required to be apply for the Class D security license and must be submitted with the application. Students will receive assistance during the training course with the security application process.
In person students will be provided the opportunity to receive their AHA Heartsaver certification (CPR, First Aid, AED), a passport photo to attach to the application, have their fingerprints submitted by the schools FDLE Livescan vendor as well as have their applications notarized. This will help complete some steps ahead of the application submission appointment.
Registration to attend the training course is required. Students must be 18 years of age, no criminal charges within the past three (3) years, of good moral character, and a U.S. Citizen or a Legal Resident.
Completion of this security courses will prepare students entering the private security industry with the fundamentals necessary to work unarmed security in the State of Florida and ensuring compliance the students knowledge of the laws as enforced by the Florida Statutes 493 and 5N-1 Administrative codes.

-Copy of FDCAS Application
-Printout or Digital G
Subjects and credit hours earned include:
Legal Aspects of Private Security, Roles of Private Security Officers, Security Officer Conduct, Principles of Communication, Observation and Incident Reporting, Principles of Access Control, Patrols, Principles of Safeguarding Information, Physical Security, Interviewing Techniques, Emergency Preparedness, Safety Awareness, Medical Emergencies, Terrorism, Event Security & Special Assignments, Communications Systems, Special Issues, Introduction to Firearms.
Course delivery is available in person and live online.
Class duration:
Each class term is 5 days/1 Full Week of Attendance each
Monday – Friday from 8AM to 5:30PM each day.
In person students should arrive on time as class begins promptly. Online students should log in no later than 7:45AM each morning to ensure no connectivity issues and to be permitted in the class session following identity verification.
Daily Identification Verification:
Students will be verified by the instructor prior to being permitted in the course from the waiting room prior to each class by presenting the photo ID used during the registration process.
Interactive Engagement
Online students will receive content live and have the ability to see, hear, speak to and or use the chat and receive feedback in real time. It is required for the student to remain visible on the webcams during instruction with the exceptions of breaks/lunch. Questions will appear at random that the students must answer to receive credit for being present. Missed lessons may be made up. Review the student agreements, terms an conditions to review all requirements for acceptance.
